And They're Off...
"The Run for the Roses"
Looks like it will be a cool and cloudy day for the running of the 135th Kentucky Derby but thankfully the latest weather forecast is now backing off their earlier prediction for rain. Yes!
Post time for the Derby is 6:24 p.m. today. Just a few moments ago the early morning favorite I Want Revenge was scratched.
My three horses for the trifeca are General Quarters, Freisan Fire and either Desert Party or Flying Private. I also like the long shot, Nowhere to Hide because his name reminds me of what I want for Bush administration war criminals. I know having accountability for war crimes is also a long shot, if our media establishment has their way, but I still remain hopeful that eventually those who created, authorized and protected the torture program will eventually have "nowhere to hide."
Here's a list of the horses (these were the odds as of this morning):
UPDATE: Congratulations to Mine That Bird, the newest Kentucky Derby winner...a 50-1 shot. Looks like long shots are possible after all!
